Cisternino
The public gardens overlook the countryside of Cisternino, rich in vineyards, olive groves, fruit trees, farms – the oldest of which date back to the 15th-16th centuries – and trulli, the unique dry stone buildings with the cone-shaped dome covered with stone slabs. We are in the Itria Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Cisternino has the largest forest in the area of Brindisi which counts approximately 200 hectares of Mediterranean scrub and pine forest subject to forestry restrictions.
Locorotondo
Locorotondo stands out in the plateau of Murge dei Trulli with its fascinating circular town and its characteristic white houses. It is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy and it was awarded the Italian Touring Club Orange Flag. Locorotondo is perched on a plateau in the south-eastern area of the Murge dei Trulli, in the heart of the Itria Valley, less than 10 km away from Alberobello.
Alberobello
An expanse of dry stone trulli gives Alberobello a one of a kind horizon, recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. In the heart of the Murgia dei Trulli, 50 km away from Bari, a graceful expanse of pinnacles announces Alberobello, with its characteristic historic centre, a World Heritage Site. Orange Flag for the Italian Touring Club, the heart of the town is entirely made of trulli, the original dry stone houses, whitewashed with quicklime and with a cone-shaped roof made of exposed stone.
